Wordsworth lucy poems4/30/2023 It is like she sets her free from her pain as she becomes one with her. Pipkin Published 1 October 1977 Published 1 October 1977 Linguistics Linguistics Ariel-a Review of. Nature was a mother who took pity on her for being so brave and losing her way home. The Lucy Poems and Wordsworths Dream James W. Whether this poem is built on an imaginative character or is based on a real person this debate can go on forever but we get to witness a young girl being brave enough to go out on a stormy night and nature seems to take her in. Escapism could also be seen as Wordsworth switches away from realism to the imaginative world that he creates. He also shows how Lucy is a part of nature and as she dies she goes back to become one with nature. Wordsworth is a romantic poet who focused on writing connecting back to nature as he didn’t like industrialization. There is also a parallel that the Wordsworth ‘ Lucy ‘ poems have Lucy dying as well.Īnother theme is nature. The sentences never really said that she died but it was indicated that Lucy did die by losing her way in the stormy night. The themes of the poem revolved around the death of Lucy Gray. Though later he found Dorothy in his life the poem doesn’t meet with a happy ending. As Wordsworth has been separated from his sister in childhood. While many critics who believed Lucy to be Dorothy linked its parallel with the character. Wordsworth never really talked about the origin of Lucy's character in his poems. Many critics have said that lucy could be his sister Dorothy while some considered Lucy to be an imaginative character. The poem itself is very heart-touching as we are exposed to the vulnerability of the young child. Lucy Gray's poem talks about a young girl who got lost on a stormy night. Please do not confuse ‘ Lucy’ poems of Wordsworth with ‘ Lucy Gray ‘ poems. It was published in lyrical ballads in 1799. ![]() William Wordsworth was a great English romantic poet who collaborated with his friend Samuel Taylor Coleridge on the famous lyrical ballads.

I’ve edited the attribute table of my geotagged photo layer to include a Description and URL fields that I’m going to use later for a quick web map. Also you will need the QGIS2Web Plugin installed. Step 4: Create Web Map with Popup (OPTIONAL)įor this portion you will need to have your photos stored on the web somewhere and be accessible using a direct link (e.g. If you don’t see the Processing Toolbar Panel then go to Processing Menu > Toolbar. In QGIS: Go to the Processing Toolbar panel. As for QGIS version, I am using QGIS 3.14 Pi. Also, if you wan to create a web map then you need to have qgis2web plugin installed. The only requirement to this short tutorial is that you must have photos that are already geotagged. Geotagged photo can be mapped and viewed in QGIS. If you have ever taken photos with your smartphone then most likely your photos as geotagged (assuming geolocation is enabled on your phone). The geographic information (latitude, longitude, altitude, bearing or direction, and date/time stamp, etc.) are stored in the image’s EXIF header. A geotagged photo has associated geographic location added to it by a process called geotagging. If you have a need to map and view your geotagged photos then this post is for you. I thought I would a complementary posting on mapping and viewing geotagged photos in QGIS. I think it’s good idea to learn both ArcGIS and QGIS.Īnyway, enough on ArcGIS. We had an interesting discussion on teaching GIS in the academia (although I am no longer in academia - I still enjoy teaching and doing trainings). It provides some very useful information for on using ESRI software (AGOL) to map and view geotagged photos. You can read his post on Using the Photos with Locations Tool in Education. If anybody knows different, please let us know.Today’s post is inspired by Joseph Kerski, who works at ESRI doing GIS in Education. ![]() Well, there doesn’t seem to be much you can do about this, except delete your own photos, and take the tag off any photos tagged by friends in Facebook. (Note: untested – let me know any feedback) Trouble Fixers has this solution using using a tool called Geotag Security. The windows option on each photo file to ‘remove personal information’ doesn’t take of the geolocation tab unfortunately. This is a hassle as you’ll have to turn this off and on manually every time you need to use Google Maps or the Camera app.īut you still need to sort out any photos you’ve taken already. Unfortunately, not not all smartphones have the option to disable location services on specific apps – some only have the option to turn it off or on altogether. Now future photos won’t have this information attached. Go to settings – general – location services – camera and switch it to ‘off’. ![]() Here I’ll give the instructions for an iPhone – hunt around for Android. Or you may just be sharing information you don’t intend to, to employers, ex-partners, whoever. You may potentially be inviting danger (stalkers, predators, burglars) by posting images with geo tags on social networking sites or any other sites. Well, as per the newsclip above, if you post a photo with geolocation information, you’re telling anyone who knows how to look exactly where that photo was taken. You may find the option to turn off this feature in your digital camera (see below), but even if you find this option, all your previous images are in danger. If you right click on a photo you can find this information via its properties. This data file contains all information regarding your camera settings including the exact latitude and longitude of where they were taken. A YouTube clip about the potential dangers of geolocation information available on photos caught our eye this week. This piece could justifiably be accused of alarmism and hysteria, but nevertheless, geolocation tagging of photos taken on smartphones is just one more piece of information which you may not have voluntarily chosen to share with others.ĮXIF (Exchangeable Image File) is a data file that is stored along with every image which you capture from your digital cameras.

Shutter counter for canon rebel cameras4/30/2023 You're not offering a return policy of 30 or 45 days are you? You're selling an expensive item that could easily turn into an expensive brick. You've had yours for since (?) as the second owner and have 80k shutter actuations, that's not abnormal but it's isn't an open box item or a lightly used camera by any stretch of the imagination. The shutter count is a good estimate of a cameras use, its possible abuse and its possible remaining life. You're selling a used "pro" camera that you bought used and are complaining about people asking about its use/condition ?!?!? HOW DARE THEY !!!! You ever sell on eBay? You know the "no return" clause and how it means nothing? Anyone, and I do mean anyone can complain up to 45 days and still return the item you sold as "no returns"(at your loss). the principle that the buyer alone is responsible for checking the quality and suitability of goods before a purchase is made. All from people who I'm willing to bet have never actually used a camera enough to experience a shutter failure themselves. ![]() Ultimately I know this is just the camera equivalent of kicking tires on a car, but it's ridiculous how fixated people are on shutter count, how unreasonable people seem to be when it's really just a $400 service to take it back to zero, and how shocked they are that a pro level camera would reach into the tens of thousands of clicks. Even so, I offered to come down a little less than half the cost of a shutter replacement ($200) since the shutter still had half its life left, and even on a used camera with light use, you would still have some wear on the shutter. I informed her that the camera is rated to 150,000, so it's unlikely with low use she would hit that for many years. I had one lady tell me that a shop quoted her $450 to replace the shutter, and she didn't want a camera where she would have to "put another $500 in it this summer in case things start to go downhill." (Somehow the supposed $450 cost to replace the shutter suddenly became $500.) This was after she already stated that her use of the camera would be relatively low compared to most people. People treat it like the camera is on its last legs and should be steeply discounted just because it has somewhat more clicks than a lot of cameras. It is ridiculous to me how many people are taken aback at how many clicks are on the shutter. At first I told them I estimated it was around 80,000, but then as the inquires piled up, I broke down and spent the few bucks to get the program to actually read it. Just about every person asking about the camera has asked about the shutter count, which is understandable and I somewhat predicted. I didn't have the one (paid) program that seems to read the shutter count on the MkIV, so I started off just listing it for sale as is with no shutter count mentioned. Cosmetically it's in great shape, and all the buttons and dials work perfectly. Based on the shutter count I bought it at, I knew it was probably around 80,000. I've been trying to sell a 5D MkIV recently. ![]() Ok, I admit that this might be mostly just a rant, but I had to get it off my chest.

Think of it as a mix between the traditional combat of previous historical titles, just with a tinge of Total War: Warhammer’s “spells” in the form of certain melee based attacks, buffs, or debuffs. Yupo translucent paper4/30/2023 ![]() The whole process is controlled by computer and closely monitored using stringent quality standards. These layers are created during their extruding process, which creates a biaxial-oriented substrate… meaning the fibers are fused together in two directions giving its durable strength. Yupo is formed from three layers… the base, plus two outer layers. Once these polypropylene pellets are created, they are fed into proprietary heating and extruding (or shaping) equipment. ![]() These “plastic” pellets are created from raw materials that are delivered to the YUPO facility and loaded into unique silos and hoppers where they are mixed with minerals and transformed into pellets. YUPO is produced in the USA (Chesepeake, VA USA) with polypropylene pellets. Where and how is Yupo Paper manufactured? YUPO paper is the 100% recyclable, waterproof, tree-free synthetic paper with non-porous attributes and properties that make it the perfect alcohol ink art! We know Yupo as a favorite among alcohol ink and watercolor artists, but it is also widely used in several applications in printing, labeling, and packaging and plays a vital role in product marketing worldwide! If you’ve been to the supermarket or almost any retail store, you’ve likely seen YUPO used in product packaging! One of the first questions, I asked was “Can I Come See How Yupo is Made?” I wasn’t surprised to hear that they do not host public tours… but you can’t blame a geeky artist for trying, right? However, they were very forth-coming with some really great information that helps us understand how to properly work with YUPO and improve the lifespan of our art. The folks at YUPO Corporation were helpful and quickly directed me to Legion Paper, the company that handles their distribution. So, I decided to reach out to the YUPO Corporation with some questions and to learn more about the product. In the Alcohol Ink Art Community, we’ve had lots of questions about YUPO and how to properly handle and preserve art created with it. It has been described by some artists as erasable watercolor paper… which I think is cool… because I’m good at making mistakes! Because of YUPO’s non-porous nature, it’s the perfect substrate for alcohol ink art projects. It’s plastic-like, flexible, and durable. It’s a tree-free, recyclable paper, making it a great environmentally friendly substrate. YUPO® Paper is a preferred substrate for many alcohol ink and watercolor artists.

Related topaz gigapixel ai4/30/2023 ![]() Processing in Gigapixel AI allowed for it to be increased in size by more than 300% and then cropped to produce an impressive close-up of the bird (lower). The top image shows the original width of a Ring-necked Duck photo. However, my eyebrows were raised when I was able to increase the image width from 8,192 px to 30,000 px! Admittedly zooming right in revealed negligible volumes of noise in the bird's feathering, but cropping and resizing the image to my usual 3,000-px output produced a far better-looking shot than what was possible with Photoshop. The bird was pretty small in the frame, but my Canon R5 has a full-frame sensor that offers 45MP, so a considerable crop was always possible with the original image. I first used Gigapixel AI on a half-decent – if a little distant – shot of a Ring-necked Duck on my patch. How did they perform? Well, besides the obvious caveat that no two photos are the same and therefore each app worked to different degrees of effectiveness depending on the shot being edited, my reactions have ranged from mildly impressed to thoroughly blown away by what they can achieve. Users of the latter therefore have the best of both worlds to choose from. Once you've applied the Topaz enhancements, click 'Apply' and the image opens back up in Photoshop. But it transpires it's not a case of one or the other: the three Topaz Labs products can be installed as plugins for Photoshop, which means each can be used seamlessly as image-enhancing options from a familiar 'base'. My immediate thoughts were of how it would compare to Photoshop, which I have used for many years, from start to finish during processing. The purpose of each is pretty self-explanatory from the product titles for the absence of doubt, in simple terms, Gigapixel AI is designed to increase image size without losing quality. ![]() Having seen an array of positive feedback and, importantly, the impressive results that the Topaz Labs products were delivering for wildlife photographers, I decided to download three of its apps: DeNoise AI, Sharpen AI and Gigapixel AI. ![]() Although the Texas-based Topaz Labs has been producing photo-enhancement software products since 2005, it has only really been in the past couple of years that its offerings have begun to circulate in the UK birding scene. Surprisingly, until fairly recently, another market player has largely passed under the radars of UK birders and bird photographers. These days, image processing on a computer can be every bit as important as taking the actual photo in the first place. It's a likely bet that most of those reading this review will either use Photoshop or Lightroom to process their bird photos. But artistic merit only goes so far, and being equipped with the digital skills to apply various techniques to improve brightness, contrast, colour, sharpness and plenty more besides is every bit as crucial.įor many years Adobe's Photoshop software has been the default go-to for professionals and amateurs alike – so much so that 'to photoshop' has become a widely used colloquial verb to describe the image processing journey. ![]() In fact, with so many birders owning top-end cameras and long lenses, and consequently obtaining more or less the same images while out in the field, it is actually the attention paid to processing that makes all the difference to a photo standing out from the crowd.Ī considerable part of this – cropping for example – is in the eye of the beholder. Image processing – the course of enhancing an image by using specialist computer software – is every bit as important. For many, managing a good photo has become as important as (if not even more than) actually seeing a bird – not least because it provides a lasting memory of a moment long after the bird has gone.īut getting the camera settings right and 'nailing' a quality image is just half the story. Photography has become such an integral component of modern birding that just about every birder has a camera these days. |
